What we process and why

Enquiries and expressions of interest. When you fill in a form on the site — the contact form, "ask about the boat" or "book a viewing" — we process your name, email address, phone number, your message and which listing it concerns. The purpose is to reply to you and to prepare or carry out a boat transaction. The legal basis is steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)).

The AI chat. What you write in the chat is sent to our chat service and on to the language model provider that generates the answer. We do not use the conversation to train any model. If you leave your name and contact details in the chat, a contact or enquiry is created in our system, just as with a form. Please do not enter sensitive personal data in the chat. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing fast service (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Valuation and storage quotes. Our boat valuation and storage quote tools live at salj.batformedlarna.se and run on the same platform. The data you provide there is processed in order to produce a valuation or quote and to get back to you.

Technical data and logs. Our web server records information such as IP address, time, the page requested and browser type. This is used for operations, troubleshooting and to prevent abuse — for example, we block repeated form submissions from the same IP address within a short time. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and functioning service (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Site statistics. If you consent to statistics, we use Google Analytics 4 to see how the site is used at an aggregated level. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.

Cookies and similar technologies

Before you have made a choice we store nothing but the choice itself — we need to save it in order to respect a no. The analytics script only loads once you have accepted statistics, which means that anyone who declines never makes a single request to Google.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page.

We use no marketing cookies today. The category is included in the choice so that we can ask you before we ever start using any.

Who we share data with

We never sell your data. The providers we use process data on our behalf under data processing agreements and may only use it to deliver their service to us:

• Elithan Web Solutions / Varvsportalen — the platform running the site and the CRM where enquiries, contacts and boat listings are handled.
• Supabase — database and file storage for the platform above.
• Vercel — hosting and operation of batformedlarna.se, including server operational logs.
• Resend — sends notification emails to us when someone submits a form.
• Anthropic — the language model that generates the answers in the AI chat.
• Google — Google Analytics 4 for site statistics (only with your consent) and Google Search Console, where we see aggregated statistics on how the site appears in search results. Search Console sets no cookies on your device and cannot be used by us to identify individual visitors.

We also disclose data where we are required to by law or by a decision from an authority.

Some of the providers above are established in the United States or process data there. Such transfers are made under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and/or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, together with the supplementary safeguards offered by the provider.

How long we keep the data

• Enquiries that do not lead to a deal: up to 24 months after the most recent contact, so that we can help you if you get in touch again.
• Data relating to a completed transaction: for as long as needed for the contract and thereafter under the Swedish Accounting Act, normally seven years.
• Chat conversations are not stored as conversations. Anything that becomes a contact or enquiry is handled as described above.
• Technical logs: a short time, normally no more than 30 days at the provider.
• Your cookie choice: 12 months, after which we ask again.

Your rights

You have the right to request a copy of the data we process about you, to have inaccurate data corrected and, in certain cases, to have data erased or the processing restricted. You also have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interest, and the right to data portability for data you have provided to us.

If you have given consent — for example to statistics — you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our processing changes, for instance if we start using a new tool. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If a change means we need your consent again, you will be asked again.
